Ross Wilcox is an author residing in Fort Worth, Texas. Originally from Elk Point, South Dakota, Ross’s short fiction has appeared in literary journals such as The Carolina Quarterly, Gulf Coast, North American Review, Columbia Journal, and elsewhere. His short story collection, Golden Gate Jumper Survivors Society, was published in 2020 by 7.13 Books. He was awarded the Chris O’Malley Prize in Fiction in 2017 by The Madison Review, and his work has been a finalist in contests held by Dzanc Books, Red Hen Press, and The Santa Fe Writers Project. Currently, Ross teaches at the University of North Texas.
In his spare time, Ross enjoys doting on his 19-year-old cat, watching the Buffalo Bills, and birding with his wife, Sarah. An enthusiastic birder, Ross is famous among the backyard wildlife of his neighborhood for his homemade bark butter, which the birds and squirrels (and racoons and possums) flock to feast upon daily.
